Longtime BFA member and supporter Paul Stumpf, owner of Stumpf Balloons, was honored in early May by the Aero Club of New England. Stumpf was named recipient of the Vermont State Award, an annual award given to individuals from the six New England states who have made a significant contribution to aviation in their particular field. The award citation reads in part... "For his support of and dedication to the New England ballooning community for 25 years and his insistence on the highest standards of balloon maintenance, which have directly contributed to the outstanding safety record of New England balloonists."
