The primary purpose of the Balloon Federation of America is to promote hot air and gas ballooning as fun but safe sports and recreational activities. The BFA strongly encourages pilots and ballooning enthusiasts to attend sanctioned events, due to their strict adherence to established, written safety policies and procedures. Non-sanctioned event listings in this or any other BFA publication does not in any way imply endorsement of the events or their operation.

All of the competiton events are listed on the calendar at the bottom of this page. If you cannot find a particular event of interest there, please email the HACD Chairman for further assistance.

Event information listed on our web site is provided by the event coordinators and BFA members. It is published in the Calendar at no charge. For those interested in adding their ballooning event to our listings, following is the contact information:
