BFA National Convention Extends Early Registration Print E-mail

The planning committee for the Balloon Federation of America’s National Convention has extended the early registration through January 31, 2011 to accommodate the holidays. Anyone registering before midnight on Feb. 1 will receive the discounted registration price of $190. After midnight on Feb. 1, registration will go up to $245.

Memorial Service Planned for Carol Rymer-Davis Print E-mail

Dr. Carol Ann Rymer Davis of Denver, CO and her flying partner, Richard Abruzzo, of Albuquerque, NM, were lost at sea on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 in an area of severe thunderstorms over the Adriatic Sea. Both were world champion gas and hot air balloonists and were competing in the Gordon Bennett Race which had launched from Bristol, England on Saturday, September 25, 2010.

John Petrehn Wins World Championship in Hungary Print E-mail

BFA member Johnny Petrehn has claimed his 2nd World Championship in competition against 117 of the world's best hot air balloon pilots in Hungary. Petrehn used the fnal flight of 6 tasks to leapfrog teammate Nick Donner who had led the compeition from the beginning but ended up in 2nd.
