The HACD held an open meeting in Waco during the 2007 National Hot Air Balloon Championship. The rough draft of the minutes has been distributed to the Division Officers for their review.

The Commission Internationale Aeronautique (CIA) of the Federation Aeronautique Internationale (FAI) has released the new 2007 World Rankings and Uwe Schneider of Germany is #1, John Petrehn of the US is #2, while Nick Donner of the US is #3. Joe Heartsill of the US is #8 giving the USA three pilots in the Top 10. Japan also has three pilots in the Top 10.

I would like to inform everyone that in keeping with our new Division bylaws, we will be holding an election this summer to fill three positions on the Division's Board. We are seeking a representative from the Western Region, the Northeast Region and one At Large member. The HACD regions are the same as the BFA's regions.
If we do not have two people willing to run for election from each of the two regions, plus the At Large seat, the Board can appoint someone to represent that region.
If any of you would like to run for any of these three seats please contact anyone on the nominating committee or contact myself. Remember, if you want to run for the Western Region seat, you must live in that region; the same for the Northeast.
