ROSWELL, New Mexico – March 15, 2012 – Austria’s Felix Baumgartner jumped out of a space capsule from an altitude of approximately 71,580 feet as the Red Bull Stratos project moved forward into the manned flight stage in New Mexico. The 42-year-old rode the space capsule attached to a giant helium balloon above the so-called “Armstrong Line.”

FAA changes Nyquil use guidelines
I’ve commented before on the evolving policies coming out of Washington regarding the whole spectrum of medical certification, particularly in the area of medications usage. The only new update I have for you this month is on a commonly “self-prescribed” over-the-counter cold treatment, Nyquil. Nyquil is used to treat the symptoms of the common cold, upper respiratory infections, and allergies. This popular medication contains ingredients that can be sedating, and include dextromethorphan, pseudoephedrine, acetaminophen, and doxylamine.

Nearly every year, the pilots of the Ballooning Society of Pikes Peak (BSOPP) in Colorado Springs, CO assemble a “long jump” flight. In fact, we even have a trophy we award the pilot who flies the longest distance every year.
