2020 Junior Balloonist Summer Camp Registration
Camps are for teens aged 13-17 interested in hot air ballooning and willing to join us for a few fun filled action packed days/evenings Come and share part of your summer with up to 20 teens living and breathing ‘ballooning’. PREVIOUS BALLOONING EXPERIENCE is NOT REQUIRED as our campers will be joining a volunteer staff of FAA certified pilots and experienced crew who will be acting as their mentors and counselors – making sure everyone benefits. Enjoy the company of others sharing a passion for ballooning, in this unique and different camp experience!

The attendee and/or the listed Guardian hereby grant the Listed Entities the right to take photographs of the Guardian, the attendee and their family, and further grant the Listed Entities and their assignees and transferees to copyright, use and publish the same in print and/or electronically without any compensation in connection with the above-identified event, including for example such purposes as publicity, illustration, advertising, social media, associated web sites and web content.
This photo release is required for camper to attend a BFA camp.
Scholarship Application (Optional)
The Balloon Federation grants a limited number of scholarships for students attending BFA Summer camps. Complete this part of the form if you are interested in applying for a BFA National Camp Scholarship.
In addition, many local balloon clubs and organizations provide varying levels of scholarships for camp. Contact balloonists in your area to see if local scholarships are also available.
- Age Requirements 13 to 17 years old during camp
- A written recommendation from a teacher, pilot, crew chief, or someone associated with ballooning.
- Write a minimum 200 word essay on ONE of the following topics
- Why do you want to attend the BFA Balloon Camp?
- What does the sport of ballooning mean to you?
- Application Deadline April 1st
- Application Awarded By April 30th
Applications will be reviewed by the BFA Junior Balloonist Committee, and you will be notified of the decision on or before April 30th by email. Priority for scholarships is generally given to first time campers.

Please request the person recommending you for this scholarship email a message to email@example.com describing how they know you, and how they think you would benefit from attending a BFA balloon camp. They need to indicate whether they are a teacher, pilot, or ballooning crew member.
To reserve your spot at camp, a non-refundable
registration deposit of $75 is required. It may be paid by credit card or mailed to the BFA. Once accepted, the $500 remainder is due by June 30th.
