Labor Day Lift-Off is an annual event held in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to celebrate Labor Day weekend. The event typically takes place over three days and features hot air balloon launches, a balloon glow, and other activities for the whole family.
The event starts early in the morning, with dozens of hot air balloons taking off and filling the sky with vibrant colors. Visitors can watch the balloons from the launch field or take a tethered balloon ride themselves. In the evening, there is a balloon glow where the balloons are lit up against the night sky.
In addition to the balloon activities, the Labor Day Lift-Off features live music, food vendors, and a variety of other family-friendly activities. There are also special events, like a 5K race, a donut-eating contest, and a pancake breakfast.
The Event is held at Memorial Park in Colorado Springs, off Pikes Peak Avenue between Hancock Avenue and Union Boulevard, near the shores of Prospect Lake.
