We, as a festival and a nonprofit, take pride in our NC-based roots, and we owe much to our community and the multitude of volunteers, other nonprofits, and community agencies who ban together each year to make the Flow Automotive Carolina BalloonFest a truly unforgettable event, one that has a tremendous impact on the wellbeing of the citizens of Iredell County and surrounding locations.

National Balloon Rally Charities, Inc. DBA Carolina BalloonFest is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that hosts an annual balloon festival, the Carolina BalloonFest, known as the second oldest hot air balloon festival in the country. Always occurring during the third weekend in October, the festival features hot air balloon morning competitions, mass ascensions, and evening balloon glows, in addition, to live entertainment on two stages, a kids’ zone, marketplace, and artisan village, NC wine and craft beer garden, plus aerialist circus performances and skydiving exhibitions.

Rain or Shine... Carolina BalloonFest is open October 20-22, 2023!
Hot Air Balloon Flights are scheduled twice daily; early morning & late afternoon. All ballooning activities (including static displays, tethered rides, and balloon flights) and skydiving exhibitions are weather-dependent. The decision to inflate hot air balloons is made just prior to the scheduled ballooning activity. Please note that due to the popularity of our festival, our admissions booths will close when we reach maximum capacity. This is a decision out of our control and made by local law enforcement. Tickets are non-refundable. National Balloon Rally Charities, Inc. is a nonprofit that donates a portion of our festival proceeds to other local nonprofits and surrounding community agencies.
