Sand City Balloon Festival

We will be launching the free flights on Friday and Saturday mornings.

All free flights will be over Sandy City which is in the southern portion of the Salt Lake Valley.

All flights will be conducted under an FAA Waiver.

The glow will be held Saturday night at the promenade in front of Sandy City Hall.

REASON TO PARTICIPATE
For joining us at this wonderful event, pilots will receive the following:
• New this year, instead of the event providing a hotel room you will receive a direct payment of $250 for lodging,
• Propane for all flights and the glow. We do expect that you come full and leave full.
• Participation money of $100 for each briefing attended

YOUR COMMITMENT
• Join us for the fun, flying, and camaraderie in Sandy, UT. Flight days are Friday, August 9th
and Saturday, August 10th, along with a glow the evening of Saturday, August 10th.
• There are no flights scheduled for Sunday.
• Be prepared to show the usual aircraft and pilot documents to the FAA at check-in. They will be
present to "ramp check" all pilots and aircraft.
• Again, this year, there are NO SPONSOR flight commitments. This event provides pilots
ample opportunity to fly the passengers of their choice, with the only exceptions being:
- THERE ARE TO BE NO PAID RIDES FOR ANY BALLOON/PILOT.
- All flight crew members and passengers MUST sign the Sandy City Event Waiver
- Only passengers/flight crew members 18 YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER may be flown in
the baskets/balloons for this event unless they are children or grandchildren of the pilot.

The listed restrictions; are required by Sandy City Corporation, and are a condition for participation in the event.
