These articles were first published as a series column titled ONTarget in BALLOONING from 2001-2004. The author, Pat Cannon, is a veteran competition pilot and a two time US National Champion.
Cannon won his first title in 1989 when he won Rookie of the Year honors at the US Nationals. In 1995 he won his first National title and followed that with his second title a full decade later when he won the National title in 2006 over Nick Donner and Paul Petrehn, both also two time US National Champions.
